Where to Go: Champagne Nails

ATTENTION, ATTENTION! We have a new nail place and it's NOT in Green Hills! Lets face it, the nail salons in Green Hills are good, but NO ONE wants to drive over there or deal with the 24/7 traffic.  Located off Charlotte Ave, Champagne Nails is very accessible for everyone in Nashville, especially our tenants and guests in the Nations!

I will say it is pretty similar to The Nail Bar (and that's a good thing!): pick your own lotion bar;  bold, fun decor;  upbeat, loud music; and friendly staff! It has that classy, club vibe. Within the first 12 mins their playlist consisted of: Fergie, Britney, Bruno, and Britney again-- needless to say any place that plays Britney is a place of mine.

However, regardless of the fun, sing along tracks or flashy atmosphere, the BEST part was receiving the longest foot and hand massage of my life! I've been going to nail salons for a long time (thanks mom), so I've been to a few or 50 and I've never had a massage like that. I kept thinking to myself, is this real life? Did she fall asleep with her eyes open and lost track of time? And the thing is my friend who also went (separate times) said the same thing! So it wasn't a fluke ;) Oh, and my nails looked fabulous! Oh again, they do more than just nails!

Champagne Nails has been open for a few months now and there's no way they'll be leaving anytime soon. At least I hope not because this is my new nail place! Go check em out!

ps. Yes, I have weird hands/feet, but I wanted to show how great they looked! Gel mani/pedi

On the Go, Again.

We Support Local

As a small, local business ourselves, we love to support other local businesses! By purchasing items local, not only are we giving back to the city we love, but we're personally bringing pieces of Nashville directly to our guests, with each and every stay! See below to find out what makes your stay with us a little more Nashville.

But, first COFFEE. All of our AIRBNBS are stocked with coffee grounds from Grounds 2 Give, a local roasting company committed to giving a portion of every sale toward alleviating poverty and homelessness right here in Nashville ..which makes our coffee taste that much better!

Looking for that perfect selfie backdrop? Don’t worry we got you! All of our AIRBNB'S are outfitted with unique signs from Cool Stuff Weird Things on Charlotte Avenue. We feel these one of a kind signs, bring home that perfect Nashville vibe. Want more than just our perfect photo op? Then feel free to stop by their shop, it’s only a few miles from our houses. You won’t be disappointed.

HOUSE SWAP! If you stay at one our airbnbs houses, House: A Social Eatery will graciously offer you a FREE lunch starter! We provide the card, you bring the card with you to show them, and TA-DAA free cheese dip with your lunch! It's that easy. The hard part will be choosing which starter.

Thinking about heading over to the east side of town? We’ve teamed up with East Nashville Beer Works to offer our guests 10% off their visit! We recommend the Miro Miel (beer) and the White (pizza) so yummy! Oh, and with a dog-friendly patio filled with yard games and picnic tables, along with a table of board games and dart boards waiting inside- good luck leaving, you’ll be having too much fun!

Where to Eat: House: A Social Eatery

I really enjoyed this place! Maybe the name threw me off a bit because I kind of pictured a soft, whimsical interior with little glass vases as the center pieces, BUT thankfully I was so wrong. From a Jimmy Fallon painting, to old, framed portraits- this place is uniquely decorated from baseboard to ceiling, providing a one of a kind eatery. So much so, that I feel it could be a perfect spot for a low-key, first date! If you were to ever get stuck in awkwardness- just look around, there’s a plethora of things you could talk about! ;)

Everything on the menu looked great, but if you have no shame in ordering a “hot brown,” then do yourself the favor. Freshly sliced turkey, grilled tomatoes, peppers, & jalapeños topped with QUESO! I repeat, QUESO. It was delicious. I didn’t make it to dessert this time, but I’m not sure I can come back without trying the deep-fried snickers.

But it wouldn’t fulfill its name if it only offered food, cue the full bar in the middle of the room. I appreciate a restaurant that values quality food, but also understands sometimes a cocktail is more important. There is plenty of room to be social at the bar, or to enjoy your drink in the various nooks of seating throughout the house.

If you’re in the neighborhood, I’d definitely stop by- for lunch, dinner, cocktail, or a little bit of both!

Where to Go: The Nations Bar & Grill

The Nations Bar & Grill just gave a BIG "You're welcome!" to the residents and neighbors of The Nations. Sure, we've seen many new faces in the neighborhood as new construction homes pop up every week, but this is a new feeling of home. ..which considering it's walking distance, it may turn into a home away from home if you aren't careful! ;)

I think this is just what The Nations needed: a go-to bar that's right down the street, with great food and drinks, and a friendly staff who may call you by name by the end of the night. It's not trying to be something it's not or swing a crowd with a country theme, it's a real bar that is going to bring real people and neighbors together.

I attended the soft opening this past week and had the privilege of meeting the various people who are running the show - each person was genuine and so excited about this opening! You could feel the warmth inside because of each person who was working there. ..or maybe that was the delicious hot chicken sandwich I tried? Either way everyone I met and all of the food I shoved in my face, are worth coming back for!

With working in The Nations,  I definitely appreciate the early Christmas present that is The Nations Bar & Grill. This bar is going to help get us through these winter blues and bring us back to that patio life in the Spring!

Their Grand Opening will be Jan 2nd.

Where to Eat: Double Dogs

Double Dogs is a classic “Go-to” restaurant. Like when you can’t decide, but as soon as you mention it, everyone is all in! Why? Well, if you’re a dog lover, how could you not love a place named after family pets? Bo and Chancey are the stars of this restaurant, and if their photo on the wall wasn’t enough to prove it, they also have hot menu items like Bo’s Dog Bowl Nachos (yes, they come in a dog bowl!) and the Chancey Burger. How cute?

Of course, it’s more than just a dog show, it’s a place for any occasion! You will feel comfortable walking in for lunch with Grandma, to work remotely with a business partner, or even to have a noon cocktail. One of those I’ve never done, but the point is there’s always a reason to go to Double Dogs! Oh and for you sports fans out there, did I mention they have like a million TVs?

And last, but certainly NOT least, they have a variety of great menu items, including a Breakfast Hot dog, Pesto Veggie Pizza, Chicken Pot Pie, and my personal favorite the Spicy Buffalo Chicken Salad. Want something small? The Pickled Paw Prints with creamy, smoked tomato horseradish sauce will make ya beggin’ for more!

Luckily for our tenants and airbnb visitors, Double Dogs on Charlotte is only 2 miles away! So what are ya waiting for?!

Check it out: Cool Stuff Weird Things

This is a one of a kind place. Seriously. From unique, hand made Nashville light signs to old records to vintage clothing to things honestly you're not really even sure what they are, but they're cool, weird, and you can't help but smile while you're walking through!

If you're local: it's a place you go to when you're looking for that one piece to complete a room you're decorating. We loved shopping here for our vacation rental homes!

If you're visiting: it's a must see! A great place to checkout on a Saturday after brunch while exploring this great city. Plus, who doesn't love a good souvenir?

Where to Eat: Coco's Market

Pizza, sandwiches, and pasta- what more could you want? Okay, maybe appetizers, salads, desserts - well they have that too! Coco's Market offers a variety of delicious Italian dishes for everyone in the family's tastebuds.

Love it so much? Take it home! Not only is Coco's Market a lovely place to eat, yup like its name states- it's a market too! Shop their market for numerous Italian imports and treats: pizzas, sauces, cheeses, meats, chocolates, even an olive bar! You can also share the love to your friends and family by purchasing their market gift baskets.

And just in case all of this wasn't enough, you can even play bocce ball outside!

With Italian cookbooks decorating the window sills, it's impossible to not feel the family love when dining here. Check out what we enjoyed below and be sure to stop by!
