Where to Eat: House: A Social Eatery

I really enjoyed this place! Maybe the name threw me off a bit because I kind of pictured a soft, whimsical interior with little glass vases as the center pieces, BUT thankfully I was so wrong. From a Jimmy Fallon painting, to old, framed portraits- this place is uniquely decorated from baseboard to ceiling, providing a one of a kind eatery. So much so, that I feel it could be a perfect spot for a low-key, first date! If you were to ever get stuck in awkwardness- just look around, there’s a plethora of things you could talk about! ;)

Everything on the menu looked great, but if you have no shame in ordering a “hot brown,” then do yourself the favor. Freshly sliced turkey, grilled tomatoes, peppers, & jalapeños topped with QUESO! I repeat, QUESO. It was delicious. I didn’t make it to dessert this time, but I’m not sure I can come back without trying the deep-fried snickers.

But it wouldn’t fulfill its name if it only offered food, cue the full bar in the middle of the room. I appreciate a restaurant that values quality food, but also understands sometimes a cocktail is more important. There is plenty of room to be social at the bar, or to enjoy your drink in the various nooks of seating throughout the house.

If you’re in the neighborhood, I’d definitely stop by- for lunch, dinner, cocktail, or a little bit of both!
